Now it is much easier to share your old movies
Video tapes use magnetic media to store the image, and this, by its very nature, is not a good long term storage solution.
We can transfer your tapes to standard or archival DVD for much more secure long term storage.
The main types of tape we handle are:
VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, 8mm, Digital 8, Micro MV and MiniDV, but we are able to do many other less common formats.
How do you transfer the tapes?
All video tapes are transferred to DVD using a professional system. Many of our tape players are Sony and all tapes are converted into MPEG2 format,. We will put a maximum of 90 minutes onto a DVD anymore and the quality starts to deteriorate, and for the camcorder tapes, we put each one onto a separate DVD.
All video tapes are transferred to DVD in store, so your precious memories cannot get lost in the post.
Will I get my old video tapes back?
Yes, your tapes will be returned. We strongly recommend that you keep your tapes after the transfer. Box it up and pop it back under the stairs or give to a relative to look after. Your DVD could one day get lost or damaged.
How much does it cost?
For clips up to 20 mins £17.50 up to 2 hours £27.50 then £10 per hour thereafter. Extra copies of the DVD available for £8
How long does it take?
7 days, at peak periods it may take a little longer. We also offer an express service, please enquire.
Please ensure you own the copyright of the video tapes submitted for copying. By law, we are unable to make DVD’s from professional videos, or those with the copyright symbol on the front or reverse, except where written authority is given from the holder of the copyright.
